Birthday Song social PSA

Many homeless kids have never even had something as fundamental as a birthday party. We created this social campaign to raise funds so more children can have their special moment and actually blow out a birthday candle. Birthday Wishes will be the first organization to leverage the Happy Birthday song.  The new campaign was recently featured on The Today Show, Huffington Post and The Drum.

The Challenge

There are about 2.5 million homeless children in the US, most of whom don’t even get to celebrate something so fundamental as their birthdays.
 
This year, Boston-based Birthday Wishes will give more than 34,000 homeless children a party but sadly…. many others are on the waiting list.
 
To raise funds so more children can have their special moment and actually blow out a birthday candle, Birthday Wishes will be the first organization to run the Happy Birthday song on air - royalty free - in this new PSA. 
 
The beloved melody was just released into the public domain this past March after being owned by Warner/Chappell Music since 1988.

The campaign is just launching now but it was just featured on The Today Show, Huffington Post and The Drum.
